Many people before they visit want to know a bit about us. So below we give you some information that may be of help but we are also happy to chat with you on the phone or even to meet up for a chat about the Christian faith or pray with you if you have a specific need even before you attend one of our service.

WHAT TYPE OF CHURCH IS CONNECT LIFE CHURCH?

Connect Life is a church that loves people and loves helping them to find and follow Jesus. We are local church of about 130 people on an average Sunday who attend from Caerphilly and the wider area. We are part of the Elim Pentecostal group of churches with over 500 churches in the UK and also part of the Evangelical Alliance. For those of you who are new to church this will probably not be that important to you, so the important thing you need to know is you are welcome to join us! You may have a strong faith or unsure of what you believe. That’s just fine with us, just come and enjoy getting to know us and hopefully we can help you on the journey.

WHEN AND WHERE ARE THE SERVICES?

Our main Service is every Sunday at 10:30am and we are located on Crescent Road, Caerphilly CF83 1AB.  You don't need to book in advance to attend and we will always make space for visitors. You can also watch a service on line to get feel of what it is like to attend the church but there is nothing quite like being with us in person!

There is usually plenty of parking spaces on Crescent Road Caerphilly Castle Car Park.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Connect Life is a church for everyone. We encourage people to come as they are and dress in what feels most comfortable. For some of our church that’s a jacket and tie but others come in jeans and tee shirts. What you wear is really not important to us, so come as you feel comfortable.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I ARRIVE?

When you arrive, you can expect a warm and friendly environment. You will get a friendly welcome at the door and if you are new and don’t know where things are then just let someone know. We are available to serve you throughout your entire visit. To make sure we get you to your seat please arrive a few minutes before the service starts. if you are a bit late, don’t worry just come on in and we will direct you to your seat.

WHAT IS A SERVICE LIKE?

Our services are engaging, relevant and Jesus-centered. You can check out our services on our Facebook page or on YouTube and this will give you some idea of what the service is like. That said our Facebook feed is not the same as experiencing church live! Service begins with a  time of contemporary music led by our worship band. We normally stand to sing and the words come up on the screens at the front of church. Feel free to join in or just listen, you can stand or sit.

We often give out some church information during the service and because we are “family” we may take a few minutes to greet each other.

Most weeks we take communion together (bread and wine) it is simple reminder to us as Christians of what Jesus has done for us. You will be offered this in your seat but you are free to pass on this part of the service.

We nearly always have a time of practical Bible-based teaching (the sermon). Our services close with a brief time to respond to God in both worship and prayer. The entire service lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Our main Sunday service is designed for youth and adults.

WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS?

Children and young people up to the age of about 14-15 have their own activities as part of the service. We are constantly trying to improve our kids activity and we hope that they can have fun while learning about Jesus in an environment designed for their age group. We have created a safe environment for them through trained leaders and all our adult leaders are DBS checked.

Connect Life Foundational Beliefs

About us
17 November 2019

Tens of thousands attend Elim churches every week. While the congregations range from small groups to some of the largest in the UK and Ireland, all our members share a set of beliefs known as our Foundational Truths.

The Foundational Truths explain our theology and are a statement of faith - they are powerful, non-negotiable and guide all we say and do.

The Bible

We believe the Bible, as originally given, to be without error, the fully inspired and infallible Word of God and the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

The Trinity

We believe that the Godhead exists co-equally and co-eternally in three persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit - and that these three are one God, sovereign in creation, providence and redemption.

The Saviour

We believe in the true and proper deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His real and complete humanity, in His sinless life, in His authoritative teaching, in His substitutionary and atoning sacrifice through His blood shed, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His heavenly intercession and His second advent to receive His Church.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and the Son and the necessity of His work in conviction of sin, repentance, regeneration and sanctification, and that the believer is also promised an enduement of power as the gift of Christ through the baptism in the Holy Spirit with signs following. Through this enduement, the believer is empowered for fuller participation in the ministry of the Church, its worship, evangelism and service.

Mankind

We believe in the universal sinfulness of all men since the Fall, rendering man subject to God’s wrath and condemnation.

Salvation

We believe in the necessity for salvation of repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ by which the sinner is pardoned and accepted as righteous in God’s sight. This justification is imputed by the grace of God because of the atoning work of Christ, is received by faith alone and is evidenced by the Fruit of the Spirit and a holy life.

The Church

We believe in the spiritual unity and the priesthood of all believers in Christ and that these comprise the universal Church, the Body of Christ.

The Ministry

We believe in the ministries that Christ has set in His Church, namely, apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers and in the present operation of the manifold Gifts of the Holy Spirit according to the New Testament.

The Ordinances

We believe in the baptism of believers in water in obedience to the command of Christ and the commemoration of Christ’s death by the observance of the Lord’s Supper until His return.

The Commission

We believe that the Gospel embraces the needs of the whole man and that the Church is therefore commissioned to preach the Gospel to the world and to fulfil a ministry of healing and deliverance to the spiritual and physical needs of mankind.

The Coming King

We believe in the personal, physical and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to reign in power and glory.

The Future State

We believe in the resurrection of the dead and in the final judgement of the world, the eternal conscious bliss of the righteous and the eternal conscious punishment of the wicked.
